One of the most misunderstood and under emphasized parts of Christian theology is the “role” or “relationship” of the Spirit of God within the Godhead,Trinity, Tri-part Unity of God as Father-Son-Holy Ghost. The ancient Hebrews said it best that God is ONE (Shema) but we also know that God has 3 dynamic parts. How can 3 be one? In many ways it is a great mystery, we try to grasp this concept best we can in our finite understanding: Water – liquid, solid, vapor, Egg- yolk, white, shell, Mankind – Spirit, Soul, Body or …Son, Husband, Father.

The book of Psalms in O.T. is a collection of songs, poems and prayers…together they are referred to as the prayer book & hymn book of Jesus. He and His disciples would have known many of them by heart. Much like you and I know popular songs verse for verse…we simply memorized them through repetition.

Much like you and I know popular songs verse for verse…we simply memorized them through repetition. Songs of pilgrimage as worshippers would make their annual trips UP to the city of Jerusalem to celebrate festivals.
Each song is like a prayer that evokes the experience of being far from home & beset by barbarians. Then it ends with a call to praise God.

In one sense you have the freedom to do whatever you want…at least for a brief time, until “consequences” set in.
Left unchecked your freedom can actually lead to bondage. You’re free to sit on the couch and eat junk food all day but eventually, it will lead to the bondage of obesity, bad cholesterol, high blood pressure, and even death.
